Airboat Discovery Descent

Description

You wish to initiate yourself to the joy of river kayaking. The air-boat is an inflatable kayak specially designed for whitewater navigation. Its inflated structure and its self-draining bottom give it a stability and tolerance that allows novices to approach whitewater without technical skills. You progress alone on your boat accompanied by your guide and discover the first navigation techniques. This boat brings the gliding sensations of a kayak in whitewater, with fantastic possibilities of play, without the disadvantages of a rigid kayak as it is much more stable and safe. 

The course of the Haute-Guisane with rapids of class 3 maximum is well adapted to the discovery of this boat. You will navigate autonomously on the Air-boat alone, supervised by a guide who will teach you how to coordinate yourself as well as the basic maneuvers (steer, advance, stop, etc...) to go down the river safely.

To the program

The meeting point for the activity is in Monêtier-les-Bains at our reception point located along the river near Les Grands Bains.

You will be equipped on site and we will transport you to the start of the course.

Before boarding your guide will give you a short technical briefing on canoeing and whitewater safety so that you are ready to navigate the river.

During the descent you will cross small playful rapids, you will cross the village of Villeneuve to Serre Chevalier, bucolic view of the river, you will pass in front of the rock of the Whale and finally you will arrive at Chantemerle.

Back at our rafting base you will be able to enjoy the pictures of your Airboat performance.
